Downey History Week

The Downey Conservancy worked with local groups and the City's Discover Downey initiative to organize the first 'Downey History Week' in September 2014. 

Downey History Week consisted of a series of events taking place in Downtown Downey. Events included speakers from reputable organizations like the Los Angeles Conservancy, as well as preservation professionals, and our first walking tour of the city's downtown.

Our first Downey History Week was a great success. It was reported in the Downey Patriot, and events were put on with help from Stay Gallery. Overall, we were so excited to see community members of all ages and backgrounds join us to hear about historic preservation and how it can positively impact their communities. We look forward to carrying on this new tradition each year!
